The Sunderland Playground Committee is now accepting Donations!

With the help of the Township of Brock, any donation of $20.00 or more will be eligible for a charitable tax receipt. The cheque will need to be made payable to the "Township of Brock" and in the Memo section it needs to be noted "Sunderland Playground". Full name and address needs to be supplied for the tax receipt to be issued.

Let Them Be Kids is a volunteer non-profit organization created to build community capacity at the grassroots level, while building playgrounds, skate parks and fitness parks across Canada. These projects leave a legacy of community members who are inspired and better equipped to lay a strong foundation for a brighter tomorrow.

Bill Brethour accepted donations on behalf of the Sunderland Playground Committee, $2,500 from the Sunderland Legion Brock Branch 141 (Don Farquarson) and also a $1,000 from the Sunderland Firefighters Association (Blaine Thompson). The donation sign was built and donated by Todd Bowen Enterprises.

Staff members of Brown and Brethour and Brethour Financial donated $2,000 to the playground and skatepark fund this week, money raised through dress-down days at the two Sunderland businesses. Ken Jackson of the Sunderland Lions Club and Grace Mitchell (right) of the Maple Syrup Festival accepted the donation cheque.
